When does Fortnitemares 2026 end?
The event started on Thursday, October 1, 2026 with update v42.30, and ends with the Override season. The season end date is November 1, in US Eastern Time, according to the guides we checked. The exact hour isn't published in them, and the countdown in your Battle Pass tab is the reference for your region: aim for Saturday, October 31 at the latest to finish your quests.

Every completed quest counts, whatever the mode. According to the guides published at launch, here are the milestones:

How to get the free Jack-A-Nape skin?
You need to complete 26 "Nitemare" quests from the event. They've been released in waves since October 1 and are spread across several modes:
- Battle Royale and Zero Build: for example, smash a pumpkin chest to find a Sprite, deal 500 damage with the Bonerattler SMG, restore 500 health or shields, search 20 containers at named locations;
- Horde Rush, the co-op mode against waves of monsters: choose 15 perks, get a starter kit from a vending machine, collect 500 monster parts;
- Reload: a dedicated quest set since October 8.
Each quest also gives 15,000 XP, handy to finish the Battle Pass before the season ends.
Freddy Krueger, FNAF and the event collabs
The Fortnitemares 2026 trailer showed a "cursed" island pulling in characters from other universes. The event's collabs:
- Five Nights at Freddy's, with a pizzeria in the Nightmare district;
- Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street): according to event guides, he appears as a boss and drops a legendary melee weapon;
- Beetlejuice and Slender Man;
- references to The Purge;
- Asta from Black Clover, added during the event.
These skins are in the Item Shop for V-Bucks: only the quest track items are free.
